A little preview of what I’m working on for my Bordo Bello skateboard deck. Mulled over quite a few ideas for what I would do for my piece and came up with a few more after I started execution. In the end I decided to make the piece an homage to the open road, the numerous road trips I’ve taken in the past, getting lost in America and the vast landscapes of the West. There is something about being on the road that has always appealed to me. Perhaps its is the solidarity and meditative qualities perpetuated by thousands of miles of outstretched road where each mile is as, if not more, important as the destinations. Nothing but ink, wood stain, varnish and the recollection of miles past are going into this one with a title tipping its hat to a line from one of my favorite songs.
