For the Northern Hemisphere, today marked the departure of summer and the arrival of fall. A change that I always lament. Do not get me wrong, fall is a great season which brings forth such memorable events as the Great American Beer Festival, attending Bronco home games, baseball playoffs, crisp mornings, wonderful colors and textures. Change is always inspiring and both the human and scientific markings of different seasons always are cause for a sense of renewal and reflection. Regardless, I never look forward to winter, the inability to sit on my balcony listening to the sounds of the city and summer stifles me.
I shot this photo of the sunrise on the day of the autumnal equinox 2010 which took place around 9 this evening. Ciao summer, you were great to me, sorry to see you go.
