Great American Beer Fest Night Two

With night one behind me, I spent Saturday afternoon napping, watching TV and eating in preparation for my second of two nights at the Great American Beer Festival. I joined the lovely Miss Erin and her friends for the Saturday night session. I arrived a little bit later than the night before, but we still got a decent spot in line and were in to the hall within a matter of minutes after the doors opened. The second night was just as fun as the first and it was very nice to run into some good friends and people from times past. As for the beer, I ended up just going with the flow of where my friends wanted to go since it was their first and only night for this years event and in a few cases, the first time experiencing the festival. Once again, I encountered some great beers and I’ve listed some standouts from the night below. With that said, the one downfall of Saturday night is that the breweries run out of beer. By 8 p.m. many of the medalists and beers that I wanted to sample again, or for the first time, were gone.

North By Northwest Restaurant and Brewery: Batch 1000 Belgian Tripel

The one surprise of the weekend for me was an attraction to a few darker beers, which I generally find my palate not agreeing with.
