Saturday on the Colorado Plains

Windmill on the Colorado Plains

After knocking a few things of the to-do list and little desire to hang around my apartment, last Saturday I decided to take a leisurely drive to the gateway of the Great American Plains: Eastern Colorado. For many, vast expanses of flat farmed and un-farmed land dotted with small towns holds little appeal. I find great solace in them. There is beauty in oceans of muted gold and green. Serenity in the consistent breeze and songs of the birds. Inspiration in the aged and worn artifacts of man. They afford the opportunity to clear the mind of everyday “city” distractions. These are a few of my images from my drive which was ended all too abruptly by an impressive line of storms.
